Is Lockerz a Scam?

Posted By Tony on August 18th, 2009

Lockerz Invite

The Get Paid To community has been in an uproar after the launch of a new rewards based site–Lockerz.

Questions have been brought up about the legitimacy of a  site that rewards you for doing just about anything.

So what is Lockerz?

Lockerz.com is a brand new site that rewards you for just about everything you do. Registration is very easy and members can earn points extremely quickly. One of the main reasons why its popularity is spreading so rapidly is because it’s very easy to earn enough points to redeem a variety of merchandise. This includes MacBooks, Designer Handbags, Video Games, iPods, Nintendo Wiis and much more.

How it works

You can earn points in 3 ways:

1. Logging in each day.

2. Answering the question of the day.

3. Referring new members.

For example, in the first day alone, I got 23ptz through registration, 2 ptz for signing in, and another 2 ptz for answering the question of the day. All this for a grand total of 27pts! What does this all mean? Well, I can already redeem many videos games such as GTA4, which is priced 25pts!

Is Lockerz.com a legitimate website?

As a testament to the legitimacy of Lockerz.com, its CEO, Kathy Savitt, used to be Vice President at Amazon.com and the CMO at American Eagle. Lockerz.com major financial contributors is Liberty Media, which owns a major part of Time Warner, which is the firm that supports Bodybuilding.com and QVC.

Currently, Lockerz is in beta and access is invitation only.

To get an invite:

1)Please subscribe to my blog!

I only get a certain number of invites per day, and want to focus on rewarding my loyal readers.

2)Please contact me if you are interested in joining! Make sure to put “Lockerz Invite” in your title or something of that sort so I don’t miss your request. I’ll make sure to double check with my email subscription list to insure that you’ve subscribed to my blog.

Thanks a bunch for reading and if you like what you’re reading, please subscribe to my blog!

no matter how much i would like to believe that theyre true, my mind is telling me that they arent. all they do to lure people in is by using clever wording.
“restocking prizes in a few months” could probably mean only putting up a ps3 or a laptop, and that would be considered “restocked”

they are coolhunters, people who search for the next trend in marketing. they take the answers you give to their questions and use it for their own. lets say a question was “hippie or hipster?” people would respond to that and they would know what the “in” thing is. they do that for most of their questions.

i know i sound like a total nerd right now, but its the truth. face it. its called marketing, and lockerz is good at it.

    • Israel says:

no, umm, when lockerz is saying there restocking, they really are restocking everything, i was skeptical at first because it seemed “too good to be true” but i have gotton my free lockerz tee after you refer 20 friends, and my prize i redeemed was sent to me and i got it. i DO NOT work for lockerz, i was invited just like everyone else, this site is completely legit, its no scam. Im tired of hearing that it is a scam too

    • Cody says:

I agree 100%. Would be nice if it was legit, but nothing is free.

    • lokmaster says:

lockerz is not a scam i got my tee

  2. jamalthree6 says:

ha you guys are sick im gonna end this scam shit once and for all..how would yal like that?! my blog site ill be up in a few days. i will post full proof proving lockerz is not a scam. fuck a unboxing proof me and my brother went outside everyday for 3 weeks with a video camera waitin for the precious delivery of the wii and games.you will actually see the box being handed to us by the deliver.then we will walk in the house and unwrap the shit…do i work for lockerz FUCK NO!! however lockerz shouldve payed me hella for this kind of proof.because i know for sure when my site is up hella ppl will be requesting invites.ill be back around the time my site is up and ready

    • Mimi says:

      Where’s your site?

    • SB says:

Think about this for one second…
You log on to a website, and do absolutely worthless tasks, as the questions you answer can be completely bullshitted, and you expect us to believe that you get prizes worth hundreds of dollars for doing those useless tasks?

      Get help.

  3. megan says:

Lockerz is no scam. I was very skeptical but when I entered to win the xbox 360 live for 10 ptz I won and recieved it only yesterday.

  4. Lockerz Wii says:

It doesnt matter. At the end, it wont hurt to try at all, because the fact that it gives you no need to enter any credit card or have any money spent at all. Thats why Im still going with it. 🙂

  5. kyle says:

Choose TWLOHA as your charity and vote!

  6. Morgan says:

SCAM!!! I have received a handwatch I’ve ordered on the ptz about 4 days ago AND I GOT CHARGED TAXES for the pourchase.. outside my country !!! SUCKS

    • KB says:

Having to pay taxes does not make it a scam. Look at AIRMILES rewards — you get rewards, but always have to pay the taxes.

    • mack says:

I have recently started using it and I started because people I know use it. One friend has one many t-shirts and games so do I think it is a scam no but do I think the chances of you getting something when they restalk is crazy then yes.
      Also I have a question…
The guy who paid taxes where do you live US???

    • albert says:

How much does the taxes cost?

    • bavzz says:

      Lmaoo ..
but i got sumthingg but i nevvaer paid anyy thingg att all .. !! Like i think it is sikk .
      I got a ipod touchh 🙂

  7. paravozov says:

    Dear Author cybercashcows.com !
It agree, it is a remarkable phrase

  8. James Payton says:

Actually, i’ve recently read a post that stated people are ‘paid’ to claim that this website actually works.

I must question how they are affording to buy and send all these prizes out, when in my opinion, they are not earning anything, so how can they afford to give these prizes?

I’ve noticed that people that have ordered smaller items, have recieved them, but as I said earlier, are these fictious people who do not exist.

  9. robe says:

i dont know but ill try if its ascam it sucks then

  10. suchbs says:

For those who do not know this and for the people who think it’s legit because they got some crummy 20 cent t-shirt that some poor child laborer had to make as proof it’s legit is delusional.

They send those out because it’s amazing advertisement for their site and at very little cost to them. Meanwhile all these people doing surveys and providing tracking information for them are actually making them good money. While the prizes might be legit they rarely restock and when they do it’s all gone in minutes and that’s if you can even log on the site.

In the end if you want to waste your time with it feel free. Just realize that your working for them while they sit back and benefit a whole lot more.

  11. lsam says:

    Confirmed: ITS A SCAM
the even have the wallpappers “freshed”. how it can be?
you cant even purchase a wallpapper because is out of stock?
    is needed other proof-of-scam?

  12. emerald says:

how is wallpapers being “out of stock” a scam? do you pay for anything? if not its not exactly a scam but just poor stocking

  13. deekay says:

    Hey Guys!
I am an active member of LOCKERZ and i wanted to try it even i found it SCAM very first day when..The proof is we dont pay anything to lockers. There is no Tab or option of subscription, if they dont have source of income then how they can give you HP MINI Laptop which costs almost $500 in open market.
2nd Proof that IT IS SCAM: A Question: Is there any thing free in this world we are living…..
Answer: If there is then its only Lockerz (SCAM)..LOLX
One more thing there is forum http://www.talkprizes.com/lockerz_discussion…. They dont take anything against lockerz and remove threads posted against LOCKERZ…Every thing has it pros and cons but if you are true you must have an ability to listen truth, should not hide you face with reality.
    Thanks
    DEEKAY

    • ANDY says:

You guys are stupid. Their sourse of income is the surveys and everything else they make you do to get points. People pay them to have this stuff on lockerz. Theyre always out of stock because they only get a few of them at a time so when we’re getting something thats worth like five dollars they would be making hundreds of dollars because most people wont even get a prize because they dont order enough and they want more money. And also this isnt technicaly free either because you have to spend hours working on getting the points;its like working and they pay you in prizes.
Some of you might take this as a scam and some will like this website either way, it’s legit.

      • SB says:

        Your quite stupid yourself.
You can answer literally ANYYTHING on the surveys. My answers can be literally “FUCK YOU” on every single question, and I would still get points for those answers.

Its fake everyone, and just going onto their site gives them money.

Lockerz is a scam, and the people behind this ingenious scheme should be arrested.

  14. woot says:

    tis not fake, tis real
    ez

  15. Damian says:

I’ve seen some discussion here about it being a scam or not, and I think you guys should go here http://www.lockerz-scam.com and read about what this guy has to say. He’s got some good points.

  16. D Martin says:

Lockerz isnt a scam. However, its like the lotto now to actually redeem your points. I know a guy who got an ipod from them, but this was back in august when there was only like 30,000 members. You can have a million points, but it wont matter now, they have way too many members they can accomodate for. Im gonna give up very soon, lockerz has really pissed me off for wasting my time. I have mailed lockers maybe 10 times and tried to suggest they make some changes but those idiots ignored me.

  17. CandyKnas says:

its not a scam becouse the businesses get commercial from lockerz then they pay lockerz for tht com

  18. sergio says:

im not sure if lockerz is real…… im just going to stay with it and see what happens although there is a pretty good chance that it is a scam

  19. these things says:

these things happen to you probably once in your life, cause you have to be one of the highers in the pyramid to get paid/prized.

obviosly THIS IS A SCAM, but lucky the first guys who entered.
    should’ve known earlier…

  20. these things says:

OF COURSE now they are not able (nobody would) to give ALL THE MEMBERS their things.

think abotu it… they give 1000 PS3, oh right, awesome, the winners want more, and are also grateful, so invite a lot of people, who join cause the site is trustful

but it can’t stand it forever…

  21. wolfgang parcheesi says:

zlockerz sucks they never let u orrder stuff plus u play a hefty tas fee

  22. Jenny Walker says:

Lockerz is 100000000% SCAM and that is for sure.

  23. LOCKERZ IS FAKE GO TO THE WEBSITE AND SEEE !!!

  24. Chuck says:

This is a pretty simple concept. You come on and answer the daily question each day, which many of you think nothing of. They take the responses and sell them to other companies. That is how they can afford to give out prizes on a free site. It’s a legit site.

  25. Firstly, let me commend your clearness on this subject. I am not an expert on this subject, but after studying your article, my understanding has improved well. Please allow me to snatch your rss feed to stay in touch with any inflowing updates. Fabulous job and will pass it on to supporters and my blog followers.

  26. well… i tried it.. i dint get 20 people to sign up
and it never seems to restock
i dont kno how the fuck it runs out of desktop back grounds lol
the last time they restocked only people with 20 invited frens were alllowed to redeem

SO YEAH therefor its legit enough to stay on the internet
but basicaly a scam since they hardly restock

    • Einstien says:

      1)They restock every month!

      2) They run out of desktop backgrounds because there redeeming server closes when all the material prizes are gone!

3)Z-Listers (People who invite 20 people) deserve to redeem first because were working to get you ungrateful kids on the website!

This website is 100% legit, don’t listen to punks who tell otherwise, so people will get of the website so they can redeem all the prizes.
And yes I have received a prize, The X-Box 360!

  27. KillBill says:

I will determine if this is legit in 2010 but i did get a z-listers shirt in my mail WITHOUT taxes i live in Sugar Land, texas and I DON’T WORK FOR LOCKERZ

  28. Thank you for the extra information on the topic; usually I would just tell people the images to view of real redemptions, however, this works too.

    • unknown says:

its a scam if you look now it will all ways say restockingall over every thing evan haed phones it says fresh out and they get 50p every time you sign in so if you wont say a nintendo wii 250 pts you would need to sign in 66 times of less and that gives them alot of money with the amout of people that sign in

  29. 57adam says:

ok so mabye its a scam mabye there making millions from pepole wanting things on there site but so what i say what have you got to lose. nothing they dont charge you for any thing at all personaly i dont think its a scam but if you sign up earn 500 ptz and try to redeem somthing but it never gets to you yeah you may be disapointed you may have wasted you time but imagine if it is real and all it takes is patieants and for you to be quick to redeem a prize then its free stuff for life and when they lanch the full site early next year there will be mini games that give you points for playing. songs that give you points for listening and an store that gives you points for buying items and thats the only thing that costs on the site and its totaly up to you weather you want to buy things or win things.

  30. Anthony says:

WHAT??? this is lame. i believe it is not a scam but the fact that EVERYTHING is out really makes me mad. how come everything is always gone. Is it ever there?

  31. This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! keep up the good work.

  32. Hi buddy, your blog’s design is simple and clean and i like it. Your blog posts are superb. Please keep them coming. Greets!!!

  33. mani says:

if lockerz is not fake then how i can get prizes frm lockerz?? can anyone tell me??

  34. Ami_zvami says:

I want to quote your post in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?

  35. lockerz user says:

I have used lockerz for a couple of weeks and it has never replenished even though has added new items.

  36. Phillip says:

Heres what you say”wtf i didnt get my prize” well if u forget to enter your adrres information then they dont mail it to you :p

    • Jbob says:

ok lockerz so far is good but everything is always out if lockerz wants to keep getting members they have to restock like every month or 2 months i understand that it does take time to get all of the stuff they put up for virtual money but they really got to restock a lot faster they WILL start losing members and money

this was me the time i got 100 ptz
“yeah i got 100ptz oh shit everything is out of stock, oh well I’ll wait a week”
      One Week
“God damit y cant you restock a freakin game in a week”

so yeah this lockerz thing is really starting to piss me off im giving it one more week then im done for good and i’ll tell a my friends to do the same.
thanks hopes this makes you get off lockerz and go outside a get some real money and buy it your self instead of waiting like 4 day to a week to get wht you want.

just to let you guys know ive never type anything this long for something this stupid
      thanks JBOB

      • Einstien says:

You left your comment on the 27th,
The restocked all the prizes on the 31st at 5:30 :S I hope you had redeemed?

  37. I thought it was going to be some boring old post, but it really compensated for my time. I will post a link to this page on my blog. I am sure my visitors will find that very useful.

  38. Katie says:

    They are a complete SCAM!
    1. I had about 30 points, then all of a sudden they disappeared. When I emailed them I got a computer generated response saying they would have a real person email me, and help get my points back, HELLO, it’s been more than 2 months and no ones made an effort to reply
    2. How can virtual things like computer backgrounds be out of stock, that’s impossible
    3. Just because you get a t shirt, doesn’t mean you’re going to get anything else

    • Bailey says:

Um, if u cheated to get points, Lockerz foundout who did. Making you lose all ur pts. for all 3 of your statements, that doesn’t make it a scam. At least you get something(if you are a z-lister).
It is also hella bugged, i have had pts disappear and i got them back using a different computer.

      • Katie says:

I didn’t cheat it was like my first day
And I’m pretty sure it is a scam, god people like you are so ignorant

  39. Alex says:

Im starting to think lockerz is a scam!

  40. mark says:

well..a website should actually work and not have soooooo many problems. I’m guessing its run by 10yr olds.

  41. jahna says:

ok but the only thing i dont get is why u need a stupid invatation lol cus everybody i kno got a lockerz account but me why dont thay make it so u can just sign up cus they should kno ppl are gonna find a way.
and no i dont have a lockers account and i really wnt a xbox 360 elite how many points are thay dos any no?
and are dey always out of stock ?

  42. pain pill says:

i got a laptop last stocking it is not a scam

  43. coby says:

there just saying that lockerz is a scam becouse they want people to stop using it and go back to prizerebel or rewards 1 or they want people to quit so they can get a better chance of getting lockerz prizes SO DONT LISTEN TO THEN i got my free tee shirt SO YA SHUT UP

  44. coby says:

and how did i get a laptop HAA

  45. Travis says:

i dont see what the big deal is it takes like a minute to log on and get some points then log off we all obviously have enough time to read this whole post so in that time you can earn points and hey if you get something great if not who cares.

  46. Thad Mccart says:

I can’t say that I agree with your opinion but I respect it.Thanks for a great blogg with lots of interesting posts.

  47. Nottellingyou says:

You guys make me bored with all this non sense of lockerz being scam. lol. anyways i am a lockerz member and i got my stuff(took me a long time). lol.cant stop saying lol. lol. anyways you people that dont think lockerz iz scam are right, others please dont bother. lol.

  48. Jim says:

I don’t know if it’s a scam but what the hell I might win somthin. What’s this about a certin day I have to log on to redem, or a Twitter account, I just want to know how I can redeem and when is good

  49. Minh says:

HAHAHA you guys are so gullible. My friend has enough points for 2 Wii. And when he ordered it they told him there is something wrong with the system. and now they are changing the prize system which will take you 4 times as long to get the prize you want. and when you want to order it, its either out of stock or there is something wrong with the system. It is making money by getting people to work for them, however, in order for them to make money they will use words like “out of stocks” or “technical difficulty” when ever you want to claim a prize. It is similar to a ponzi scheme where people put in money hoping that they will get a huge return, but since it is so exclusive people don’t want to take their money out, and if they do take there money out, only a few of them actually do. in this case you’re putting your labour into the site, since its invite-only people feel its exclusive and they want to stay inside. they get small prizes such as t shirts coming in to them as proof when companies give away t shirts all the time without you needing to do anything. t shirts barely cost anything. the prizes may be real but the fact that they keep being out of stock and too many “technical difficulty” makes it a scam.

  50. Confused? says:

Kayy, so if lockerz is a scam and you accually have to pay taxes some places would u rather pay full price + taxes or would you rather pay taxes doesn’t it make sense… and if they really do scam what do u have to lose? What if they do spam ur e-mail or spam ur mail or w.e u guys can think about for u to be scammed, does it really matter if they spam ur e-mail ur know what the junk is used for i mean hello, and a shredder is also inviented for shredding unwanted paper… but whatever its my first time but doesn’t hurt to try, even if nothing in life is free.
